The Best Ways to Take Nettle

Nettle is an herb that has been used since medieval Europe. It has been researched and proven effective at relieving symptoms from conditions like urinary tract infections, hay fever and prostate problems. Determining what is the best method for taking nettle depends on the symptoms. Consult with a doctor if you are unsure or follow the product's instructions.

Allergies
Take 300 mg of freeze-dried nettle twice a day in capsule form. According to the Langone Medical Center, this amount has been studied and proven to be effective at treating seasonal allergies like hay fever.
Prostate
Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) is treated with nettle in European countries and is particularly effective when taken with saw palmetto. Take 3 to 4 grams of dried leaves in capsule form, three times a day.
Bleeding
Mix equal parts of nettle, thyme, grapevine and galangal and apply it topically to wounds to stop bleeding. These herbs work together as an effective blood stopper.
Urinary Tract Infections
Pour 3/4 cup of boiling water over 4 tsp. of dried leaves and steep for 4 minutes to make a tea. Drink 4 cups a day to help improve urinary tract infection symptoms. This works even better when combined with vitamin C and cranberry juice.
